Overview
YouBiz Card Spend Limits help you manage and control employee spending on company-issued cards. If an employee exceeds their allowance, any transactions beyond the set limit will be declined.
Only Admin and Finance users can set up and update spending limits on all the cards under their company's account. Learn more about user roles here.
You can also set restrictions on spending categories (e.g. Gambling) to have more detailed control over how your employees use YouBiz cards. Learn more about setting up merchant category restrictions here.
Spending Limits
By default, all newly issued cards have a per-transaction limit of USD 100,000 (or the equivalent in the card’s linked currency). You can lower this limit anytime through the app, either when creating a new card or by updating limits for an existing card.
You can also add additional limits for more detailed control. The following limit types are supported:
Limit Type | Description | Reset Frequency |
---|---|---|
Per Transaction | Cap each payment, e.g. no single transaction can exceed $500 | Applies to each transaction as it occurs |
Daily | Limits total spend per calendar day | Resets daily at 12:00 AM SGT |
Weekly | Limits the spending each week | Resets every Monday at 12:00 AM SGT |
Monthly | Limits the spending for each calendar month | Resets on the 1st of each month at 12:00 AM SGT |
Quarterly | Controls spend per calendar quarter (Q1–Q4) | Resets on Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct 1st at 12:00 AM SGT |
Yearly | Limits annual spending per card | Resets every 1 January at 12:00 AM SGT |
All-Time | Lifetime cap on a card—good for one-off or fixed-budget cards | This limit doesn't reset, but can be edited anytime to allow for more spending |
Admins can choose to disable ATM withdrawals for a Physical Card
If ATM withdrawals are allowed, a Daily ATM Withdrawal Limit must be set. The Daily ATM Withdrawal Limit only applies to ATM transactions. However, ATM withdrawals also reduce other spending limits set on the card. Non-ATM transactions (e.g. online purchases) do not affect the ATM limit but still count towards your other card limits.
Example: If your Daily Spend Limit is $5,000 and you’ve spent $4,500 online, you won’t be able to withdraw $1,000 from an ATM—even though your ATM limit hasn’t been reached—because it would exceed your total daily spend.
The Daily ATM Withdrawal Limit can only be updated once per calendar day. Do note that ATM withdrawals in Singapore are not supported for YouBiz cards.
